How to export a sample kit from EXS24

Yesterday, when I wanted to take my own created EXS24 kits (which are on my laptop) to the studio, I noticed that it isn’t so easy to copy them from the Logic folder to my stick.
The reason was that the samples, which were in the kits, are spread on my external hard drive.

I didn’t want to make these kits all over again in the studio. So, I wondered whether there was probably a function in Logic and EXS24 to export these kits.
And indeed, there is one:

1. First of all, open Logic and EXS24
2. If the kit you wanna export isn’t already selected, selected this

3. Then click on “Edit” and the editor of EXS24 opens
4. Now click on the “Instrument” menu and choose “Export Sample Instrument and Sample Files” and select the location you prefer to save the kit

Reimport the EXS24 kit

1. Copy the EXS file (without the audio samples) to “users/username/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments”
2. Then copy the folder, containing the audio files, to a folder you want. (Internal or external hard drive)
Important: The folder and the contents may not be renamed! Otherwise, EXS24 can’t find the corresponding samples!!

Hope this tutorial is helpful for all of you.
